Commonly confused with the Pantheon of Rome, the Panthéon in the Latin Quarter of Paris is definitely a sight to behold. Originally build as a church, the Panthéon now functions as the burial place for many renowned French citizens.
Although it was intriguing to visit the tombs below, it wasn’t the primary reason for my visit. I was more interested in the interior of the building. The incredibly detailed columns, domes, paintings and sculptures were the things that drew me into visiting in the first place, and I was not disappointed.
Although part of the Panthéon was under construction when I visited, it did not detract from its splendour at all. If you are heading to the Latin Quarter on your trip to Paris, I certainly recommend you check out this magnificent building.
Until next time, au revoir!
