My favourite thing about Florence is the orange rooftops. On our second day in Florence, we climbed the 414 steps up Giotto’s Bell Tower to get a breathtaking view of the Duomo and the city. The staircase was very narrow and a little bit frightening at times to navigate, but it was well worth the effort.
After the climb, we headed to the lesser-known science museum, Museo Galileo. They had some very interesting replicas of instruments and experiments from the Renaissance. I particularly liked the maps and globes, which were intricately designed and very beautiful.
Unfortunately we didn’t end up going to the Uffizi gallery like I’d planned. I’ve visited before and it’s definitely a must if you enjoy Italian art! Just remember to organise your tickets in advance to avoid massive queues.
Until next time, arrivederci!
